Bought this to replace the middle light of a three-light set I'd originally bought at Loewe's.The middle light had a faulty connector and this was the only way to replace a single light.It worked just fine and was easy to install, but I didn't need the extra transformer (which is large and clunky) and cord, so it proved kind of wasteful.It's strong, bright light--I have the three lights distributed between stemware racks under a cabinet well above my head over my kitchen sink, and it illuminates the area beautifully.It says it's a xenon light, but as far as I could tell, it takes a hallogen bulb exactly like the bulbs I have in my other under-cabinet lights (not all by the same manufacturer.) The bulbs are a pain to replace, but hopefully, it isn't necessary very often if you have a good unit to begin with. The other two in the set have been just fine.
